Climate change, saltwater intrusion, and increasingly frequent extreme weather events are posing significant challenges to the Mekong Delta. In response to these challenges, the creativity and innovation of young people can play an important role in promoting sustainable solutions and raising community awareness. To encourage creativity, innovation, and environmental communication, Tra Vinh University officially launches the LUFFA FUTURE 2026 Short Video Competition for young people across the Mekong Delta region.

Why Luffa?

Luffa is a familiar crop in the Mekong Delta. It is easy to grow, well adapted to the region’s natural conditions, and offers significant economic value. Beyond being a nutritious food source, dried luffa fiber can be transformed into environmentally friendly products that are fully biodegradable, making it a sustainable alternative to plastic. Through this competition, the Organizing Committee hopes to inspire young people to discover the untapped potential of luffa and propose innovative solutions that promote green agriculture and climate resilience.
