SUN GARDEN – Tra Vinh University Team Showcases Digital Innovation for Agricultural Supply Chains at INSPIRE Mekong 2026 Hackathon
On 31 July 2026, the Sun Garden team from Tra Vinh University successfully advanced to the Top 15 Mentoring and Co-Creation Round of the Future Entrepreneurs Incubation Hackathon and INSPIRE Mekong 2026 Demo Day. Building on this achievement, the team continued to compete in the Top 5 Demo Day, where finalists presented and refined their startup ideas before a panel of experts, investors, and business representatives. Although the team did not secure the top prize, Sun Garden made a strong impression with its highly practical project, innovative approach, and significant potential for application in the agricultural sector.

Sun Garden is an interdisciplinary student team from Tra Vinh University, bringing together students from Business Administration, Marketing, Information Technology, and English Language. As part of the Hackathon, the team took on a challenge proposed by Rijk Zwaan, focusing on developing innovative solutions to enhance the efficiency of the agricultural supply chain in the Mekong Delta.

Alongside their participation in the competition, the team received support from the STARS Water Center – Tra Vinh University through practical industry engagement, exposure to the needs of the agricultural sector, and guidance in developing their idea under an innovation-driven approach. As a result, the team developed the project "A Digital Management Platform for Connecting High-Quality Agricultural Supply Chains," aiming to improve supply chain management efficiency, enhance transparency, and create greater value for agricultural products in the Mekong Delta.
The project was highly praised by the judging panel for its innovative integration of advanced digital technologies to address real-world challenges in agricultural supply chains. The platform incorporates Artificial Intelligence (AI), Blockchain, and a digital management system to connect stakeholders across the value chain. It also integrates data from temperature and humidity sensors for real-time monitoring of production conditions. In addition, the project features advanced traceability solutions using GPS geolocation and DNA sequencing, helping verify product quality, improve transparency, and strengthen consumer confidence in agricultural products.

Reaching the Top 15 and advancing to the Top 5 Demo Day is a testament to the creativity, research capability, and unwavering dedication of the Sun Garden team members. This achievement not only highlights the innovation and entrepreneurial potential of Tra Vinh University students but also demonstrates the effectiveness of collaboration among the university, industry partners, and research institutions such as the STARS Water Center in nurturing innovative ideas with strong potential for real-world application.
